Finally....a rest day after 3 days of tough hike! Have no idea how relieved I was to have a nice hot shower and comfy bed to sleep in!
La Saxe Courmayeur is a nice little ski resort town, main town square has long narrow streets lined up with shops. The view is amazing all around.
Since we all had sore muscles, we had decided to visit the famous Thermal Hot Springs (Terme di Pre-Saint-Didier) about 15 minutes away by bus. We arrived at the spa around 11 o'clock. Robes, lotions & flip flops are provided (which is included in the entrance fee - 29 euro). Light lunch is also provided. So I quickly had some fruits and bread sticks and went straight to the outdoor hot springs.
Water is luke warm....there are different pools with seats and has super jets all around - it felt so good on my sore and tight leg muscles! The spa is quite large and are numbered. So I thought I'd start with number 1 and went all the way to 12. Each room is designed to have different spa therapy, my favorite was the 'waterfall'...super hot water flows down from the ceiling and feels super awesome on the shoulders....I believe I stood there forever until my fingers were all 'pruny'...
I left the spa with couple others and head my way back to La Saxe for my 1-hour full body massage at Body Works Centro Estetico. The hour went by quickly but it worked wonders! I felt a little better but it did not cure my sore leg muscles.
The day went by quickly...at 7pm I head my way into town and met up with the rest of the group for an excellent Italian meal....yummy!!
After dinner, we went back to the hotel and packed so I will be ready for the next day...more trekking..woo-hoo!
