My hand and Johnny Depp's!

Santa Monica Beach

Santa Monica Beach again

After visiting Universal Studios, I realised I needed to be more conservative with my money so found some cheap, or free things to do.

These included walking as much of the Walk of Fame as I could, taking more photos as my memory card had become full at Universal Studios, so I had deleted the photos from the Walk of Fame as these could easily be retaken. I also took photos of the hands and feet of celebrities outside of Grauman's Chinese Theatre, even measuring my hand up with some! I wandered around the shops of Kodak Theatre, this is where the Oscars are held, although it's not how I imagined it, it seems rather small to be where all the stars walk up the red carpet, still never mind, it was fun all the same. Also from here you get a great view of the Hollywood sign 3 miles away, apparently there's an 8 mile trek you can do there, I decided against it though.

I also managed to waste a couple of hours in a pharmacy where I was trying to get my photos put from the memory card on CD, normally should take about 5 minutes, right? Well, I walked into the pharmacy about half 11 and didn't leave until about 12.45! The reason? The machine appeared to break, must just be my luck in America huh? I had the assistant manager eventually let me come behind the counter and help try to figure out how to sort the photos out. After many wasted tries, we eventually had to split the photos onto separate CD's. They were very friendly there, and actually gave me them free in the end because they'd messed around so much and I'd been there so long!

Another trip I did was to Santa Monica beach, which involved 3 bus drives. It should have been 2 but my first driver told me to get off at the wrong place so I had to get a bus back the way I'd already come! Santa Monica is really nice and since the beach is huge it doesn't feel crowded at all. I lay here reading and doing nothing for a couple of hours which is always nice and then wandered around the promenade, where there are lots of street performers and lots of shops so I could find things I wanted but couldn't buy, much the same as I do back home at Lakeside I guess!

Yesterday I went for a 3 hour walk down Sunset Blvd and round into Melrose place, I didn't realise it was going to be 3 hours from looking at the map, but it was a nice wander through the streets of West Hollywood away from the crowded street of Hollywood Blvd.

I am flying to Texas tomorrow morning for a week to see Heidi, which will be exciting, and means I get to see a different state for a while.
