Headed East X - May 15, 2007 - Marion, South Dakota, United States

We stopped briefly in Emery to pick up our mail and to say hi to Ron and the gang. Saved a lot of postage by picking it up as we got our Passport America catalog and our meds.

We pulled in and got set up in the Marion City Park with no trouble. So far we have seen relatives, got a haircut, and got new brakes on the truck.

In October 2005, Ron's sister, Roxanne, was killed in a car accident where she was riding as a passenger. Supposedly, the driver looked away from the road to answer her cell phone and lost control. None of the 3 women were wearing seat belts and Roxanne was thrown from the car and killed instantly. The reason I bring this up is that our mission in Marion was to bury her cremains next to their father to fulfill a promise to her daughter.

This we did in a very nice ceremony conducted by a local minister. Several members of the extended family were there and we went to lunch afterwards. Ron's mother, who lives in California is not able to travel, so we will send pictures that we took.
