We made the trip to Hondo on Tuesday. No problems and not too much road construction or traffic. We both were glad to get off Hwy 281 and onto our Red roads to cut across. Sure like enjoying the scenery and small towns on the red roads. I even drove part of the way- I haven't done as much driving as I did last year because we have moved such short distances and stayed longer in locations but this trip was 280 miles and so I took over some of the driving and the good news is I haven't forgotten how. Anyway was a nice travel day, partly cloudy but no overly bright sunshine or rain to bother and we were greeted by really nice and friendly skp (escapees) co-op park members and guests. We just missed the Pizza Hut special every Tuesday night. They offer for the Lone Star Corral guests all you can eat pizza buffet including drinks for $5.00(We will be there next week) But got busy setting up on a real nice corner lot. It has no improvements or buildings but is a nice big lot with a good rock base, a little hard to back into because the rock is loose but sure nice now, no mud or grass to track into the house. This is the co-op park where we have our name on the list. We are up to #26 now and so really taking some time to look the place over as we might get a lot in the next year. This will be our home base and we can put a storage shed on he lot but more on that later. Just that we are enjoying the park and the people so far. Went up to happy hour and met those who were here, a bunch had gone on a day trip to the casino. Took a trip into Hondo and drove around town, Also found the Walmart for a few supplies. They said we had rain and possible storms coming for the next couple days and it rained heavy just before morning( 1.1 inches) now is cloudy and trying to rain off and on but so far the storms are not hitting us and that is good.
