Makarora to WanakaApr 16, 2007

| Today we were meant to be travelling to Queenstown but we decided that we would stop at Wanaka as it was a nice town and the lake was amazing. In wanaka we checked into the Purple Cow hostel and had a bit of a wander around town. I replaced my headtorch from its trip into the river and bought wax to sort out my walking boots as they were finally beginning to dry out. We then headed up through twon and the group split into two with half staying at the cinema and the rest of us heading up to puzzel world. Puzzel world had a large maze an illusion area. Both were great, and we compleated the maze in about 25 minuites which was better than the average. On the way to meet the others we picked some apples from a tree on the side of the road. We then headed back met the others at the cinema before a trip to the supermarket to get stuff for dinner. The 8 of us the went about cooking a full blown beef roast with yorkshire pudding and apple crumble. We ended up eating at about 9:00 at night before a walk to the lake. Not bad for $10 a head and much better than the meal in Makarora. |
