This morning Jan and I had breakfast together again and then set out for another adventure. It was sunny and very pleasant today.

We went first to Blanco, which is a pretty little town situated on the Blanco River. It was the original county seat of Blanco County. From 1938 to 1986 it served as a hospital where hundreds of babies were born. Hanging on a wall there is a framed list of most of their names superimposed on a plat of the town. The building now houses the visitor center and a real estate office. From here we went to the Blanco State Park just to drive through. I have camped there but Jan had not seen it. She was duly impressed with it.

Our next stop was in Wimberley at the visitor center to get some maps and brochures. Then we went to Juan Henry's restaurant where we had tortilla soup and an avocado half sandwich, both of which were delicious. Then we stopped at a gift shop that is going out of business. We had a nice visit with the owner.

Next on the agenda was a stop at the Verizon store in San Marcos on the way home. I was planning to get a new battery for my cell phone but, when I learned that I will be eligible for an upgrade in October, I decided to put up with this one until then. I will have to get a different phone anyway in a few months because analog service will be discontinued. As it now stands, I have to manually change the cell phone to analog mode in order to transmit my PocketMail messages. When my PocketMail service ends in June, I will discontinue it and may subscribe to Verizon e-mail instead. It costs about half as much as PocketMail and would be more convenient besides.

When we arrived back at the campground, we watched TV in my rig and ate a light supper. We discovered something very strange. We cannot receive the same channels on our respective TV sets. For example, the Fox network on Jan's TV is channel 7 while on mine it is channel 28. Also, my reception on one channel may be better than hers and vice versa. Our campsites are next to each other.
