Driving north, we skirting Salt Lake City and camped in Mantau. All sites are under a thich forest but our site was next to a babbling brook in this small, tranquil state park. During the night a heavy wind storm broke off a rotten branch which fell on the rig. Fortunately no damage was sustained.
The next day we continued on a picturesque drive which followed the Logan River with it's the clear waters rushing over several rapids. We stopped at Logan Springs, an underground cave out of which gushes the Logan River.
The highway continued through farm country, Idaho then into Wyoming. In the main street of Alton, we drove under a large arch made up of thousands of elk antlers. Further on we drove through to Jackson Hole. Here were more antler archers in the town's park.
We sighted lots of deer on the way to the Tetons National Park where we arrived late in the day.
