Back to Benson, Arizona and The SKP Saguaro RV Park we enjoyed so much last year. This is the group of Senior RVers who don't seem to realize that they aren't supposed to be so energetic and active. Coffee is served in the clubhouse nearly every morning and one morning a man who is probably in his late seventies told us about how much fun he had walking across Spain (about 550 miles!) the year he turned 70. Later we saw him driving the backhoe as a landscape volunteer. Jackie took line-dancing classes, and we played Bingo, (I know it's trite), went to a Hawaiian dinner and dance (see the wild pictures), ice cream socials, twice to the movies, took an exercise class and restrung our window blinds. Restringing the blinds may sound easy but we spread them out on a big table in the rec room and had our cord, some tools and the instructions and it still took us 2 hours! And that was with a little help from Fred who was there working on the sound system. The second window was easier.

We played golf a couple of times and managed to lose several balls in the only water in the Arizona dessert. A very interesting trip was to the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tuscan. Near there we took a bus trip to what is called "The Boneyard." The military still uses parts off the older planes on some of the airplanes still in service. And one morning, at coffee, our hands went up and we found ourselves on a very hot day rearranging rocks around various cacti in the common areas. That'll teach us to volunteer! Darcy and Wally invited us to go to church with them and we enjoyed very much. It was a relief that the roof stayed above our heads and no lightning struck.

One of our favorite activities was going with a hiking group on two hikes. The first one we hiked around and up a mountain trail for about an hour and a half, had lunch, and hiked back to the cars. The next one we drove to the Arizona Trail that goes all the way to Utah and hiked into Happy Valley. Great views and exercise. That's where we saw the horses and the coatimundi.

When we left Benson, we went to Mesa for a few days and met two sets of friends, Mike and Florence, and Gary and Shirley.

Then on to Las Vegas to see Carrie and family.
