Me on the bridge with the Auckland skyline behind me

On the bridge

Auckland harbour bridge

Due to Kiwi changing their bus timetable to a winter schedule, I had another day in Auckland, so I went on the free Auckland day trip organised by Kiwi Ex. This involved first being driven to Auckland bridge to do a free bridge climb (worth about $35). It was ok, but compared to Sydney Harbour Bridge it was nothing, just walking along steel above water really. But did get some great views of the Auckland skyline. After this we went to North Auckland to a suburb called Devonport, this is an expensive part of town, but we got $5 fish and chips and the chance to taste some really nice chocolate from the chocolatiers there, considering the price to buy it, it was extremely nice and I'm glad it was a free taste! We were supposed to go for a walk but the weather turned nasty, with heavy rain so we went to the Victoria Park markets for a while before going back to our hostels.

I spent the evening with some of the girls who were leaving on the Kiwi bus with me the next day, which was good as it meant I had people to sit with and talk to on the bus.
