SUNDAY, APRIL 15, 2007. EN ROUTE BOGOTA, COLOMBIA, TO QUITO, ECUADOR. Before heading to the airport for our late afternoon flight to Quito, Jeff and I visited the Museo Nacional (National Museum) in Bogota. Its holdings detail the history of Colombia through paintings, period furniture, and other displays. From the museum, we walked back on Carrera 7 to our hostel, stopping at a Sunday flea market. Carrera 7 is the main north-south artery in Bogota. On Sundays, this street is closed to vehicular traffic, enabling people to walk, bike, and rollarblade on the empty streets.
