Derail! a break for our bums.
| WEll this has been a real highlight. I got up very early in the morning, 6am, to get to the train station and throw my baggage in the train and the climb on top of the train and ride to Alause. What??? The baggage in and me on top?? You better believe it!! What a spectacular ride it was too. I couldn´t quite believe my eys, but there were a hundred tourist on top of a train and all set to ride through the mountains and some really pretty scenery, but also to dare the ride down a cliff through some hair raising switch backs and brave the fright of the possible derailment of this train at any time( this is fairly regular). The whole time we rode the monster, some daredevil girls walked up and down the length of the train selling empañadas and sweets, just so we could throw them off agin at the hundreds of children running along side and waving. Think hard before attempting this feat. Where are regulations and safety precautions in this country? Obviously I would vote this as one of the best trips I have done- for sheer novelty and excitement. |
