|This was an early start we had to meet the bus at 7:00am to get on the ferry to the south Island at 8:45. We got off the ferry in Picton and headed for Abel Tasman National Park via the famous Malborough Vineyard area, Nelson and Motueka. We stayed in cabins at Old MacDonalds farm. In the evening we went to the onsite cafe which was more of a food stand with outdoor tables and small fires in barells for food and drink, followed by a local pub which had a live band. Walking back from the pub was interesting as it was pitch black apart from a few stars.
