Our last day was another great day. We were picked up at our hotel by Mauro - he was surprised to see us again - but hopefully he was as happy to see us as we were to see him. We had a 2 hour drive to the Papallacta Hot springs. On the way we drove as high as 14,000 feet, stopping to see lagoons in the Andean highlands. We went back down to 10,000 feet when we got to the hot springs. They were a group of 25 pools... some very small, some big, at all different degrees of hotness. Anyway, we were in there for about 2 hours before we turned to mush. It felt great. I had a nice conversation about George Bush with a local who could not speak English. Between he and his wife we managed. He does not like Bush. I won't tell you what I said! It was fun...

After another great lunch at the hot springs we made our way back to our hotel in Quito, Frany and Zack fell asleep in the car so I was able to talk to Mauro about politics and such... that was nice. Then we did a little more shopping in the Quito market. We had one last dinner at our hotel and packed up to leave. I was so sad. I really was not ready to go. I fell in love with Ecuador in two short weeks. I am in love with Ecuador.

Our trip home was uneventful, and we're now back, shell-shocked, and trying to get back into the swing of things. It's really been hard. I could live in Ecuador. It has everything. I already miss it. I just might go back.

Thanks for taking the ride with us. It was a great one. It really was. Thanks, mom.
