Thunderclaps and flashes of lightening got us going this morning long before we intended to be awake. Camping fifty feet from the waves has a different ambience when the trailer is shaking side to side from the gusts of wind as flashes light the sky. HItching up and putting away the hoses doesn't take a long time, but we were soaked by the time we headed inland. But the rain ws going south while we wer going north and we were soon out from under.
It was a long driving day. The wildflowers I enjoyed up close yesterday on our bike ride, lined the highway for the entire drive. Central Texas is beautiful in the spring. We ate our last picnic lunch; if the weather forecast is correct it will be much too cold tomorrow to sit outside at a rest area. We tried not to think about the ever increasing gas prices as we drove north. Perhaps this might be another reason to head home well after Easter is over, since the holiday seems to add to the demand for fuel.
We are camped at the same campground in Sherman TX that we stopped at on the way south. It's close to the expressway and the price is right.
