The weather in Fiji is fine. Everyday we wake up to temps in the 80's, and have coffee on our balcony which faces the ocean. It is very hot and humid here as expected. Arrived late Sunday night to have a welcome drink from the hotel and a minted wet facecloth to cool off. It is an hour and a half ride to the hotel from the airport.
Yesterday we sat by the pool in the shade and still managed to burn! Had a nice dinner and enjoyed drinks on the balcony. The people are very friendly and the greeting is always Bula and thank you is Vinaka. The dress here is sarong type skirts and tops even for the men and a flower worn behind the ear. Guys too! If the flower is behind your left ear you are said to be "available" behind the right married or taken. Everywhere you go the band is playing fijan music, soft and relaxing.
Tonight we are going to dinner at the fancy restaurant..meaning there is a dress code..no singlets (that is what they call a tank top). Today we will enjoy the surroundings and relax again...ooohhhhh..that is so hard to do!! (hahahaha) Sorry couldn't help myself!
There is a driving range and putting green here so Rick will be there while I go to the spa tomorrow. Oh...such a hard life!
Hope you are all well...
