| As you can see from this first picture Santa Cruz was a dangerous place... we were in a restaurant with a scorpion and Chris almost got eaten by a giant catfish. Other than doing our laundry and hitting the local zoo (all local animals, many in cages were also flying around free, too), there wasn't much to do. So we packed up and headed for Brazil. We thought we were really going in style as we booked nice seats on the train we had heard so much about... imagine oursurprise when it only had 2 cars! We got to the border, went through the Bolivian side, got a ride in the back of a truck (seems to be our new favorite mode of transport) to the Brazilian side. Unfortunately it was closed for siesta so we had to come back later... tight borders. |
