| Dear All, Our next adventure was to Koh Phangnan, International Party Capital of the world. While this type of location lends itself to wild and crazy adventures too scandalous to ever blog about, Team America chose not to represent ourselves in such a manner and ended up having a relaxing 2-day vacation. The beaches here were quite different than the quiet ones of Koh Tao, as there are stalls upon stalls of cheap thai food and drink buckets as far as the eye can see. There was also house music blaring from the shoreline bars down to the water, to ensure that the party continued even when swimming. We didn't end up on Koh Phangnan when there was a full moon party, for which the island is most famous, but we hope someday to experience such a fiesta. Our one full day on the island we took a "Munchies Boat Tour" on which we sailed the circumference of the island, hiked through the jungle to a waterfall, snorkled in some of the most fish-dense waters any of us have ever seen, and enjoyed many free tour perks supplied by our fabulous Burmese tourguide - who also knew all the words to "Country Road". KK, CB, and JR also purchased practice Poi ropes - which have tennis balls at the end instead of fire - so that they someday can be fire twirlers on the beach! Great two day escape, and now we sadly return to Bangkok to send off Jen Round back home. We will miss her on our continued adventures!! Love from us, RH, KK, CB, and JR |
