Crossed the mountains and headed into Spain. We had a leisurly morning hike around Biarritz before setting off for Salamanca.
A little side trip into San Sebastian turned into a traffic nightmare, but we managed to work it out without incident.
Driving through Spain was easy going at a steady 130km per and we made it into the classic univercity town of Salamanca by supper time.
After finding a great hotel built around an ancient Roman Ruin,we hit the town for a bite to eat.
The streets were buzzing with activity. Cafes and bars spilled people out into the winding cobblestone streets.
We sat and drank beers and Fanta in a crowded cafe,as of course people laughed at our funny accents.
All in all we loved Salamanca, and hope to come back one day.
