We headed out this morning up the Oregon Coast with the fog hanging low and the mist giving away to light rain at times. This was pretty much the backdrop for the day with the occassioanl ray of sunlight that guided us off the coast and more inland to the Wineries of the Umpqua valley. We decoded to head more inland to the Interstate 5 and check out a few wineries and then head up through the rest of Oregon an Washington State.

Our time is running short and we really want to go over to Victoria B.C. through the San Juan Islands on the ferry from Bermingham, Washington.

We stayed on the Oregon coast for about 3 hours checking out some state parks and a few light houses. We saw the Cape Blanco lighthouse, the Coquille River Lighthouse, the Umpqua Light house. We also stopped at the famous Hughs house that is an old restored Victorian house.

Then we headed off the coast at Reedsport to the interior abit and stopped at the Brandborg Vineyard and Winery in the Elkton area. Tasted some wine and bought some along with a hat which i been collecting along my winery visited. Then we drove about 25 miles to the ReustlenPrayer rock Vineyards where we tasted some great wines and had a light snack and bought more wine. Then it was off to Henery Estate Winery were we had some very good red wines and bought a few gifts for Roger's brother Gary and his wife Sharon as well as his sister Mae and her husband Dan, who all love red wine.

We had another wonderful day driving the countryside and coast lines of Oregon. We hadn't really given this state much thought but it is truly a nature lover's paradise!! All the way from the Coastal range to the cascading falls in the mountains to the sand dunes and the light houses. Diversity abound and beyond anything we ever expected!!!!!
