Mueller Road Trip 2007 travel blog

Remember the belt squeal?

Well... it stopped. And so did the alternator power as the needle went from nicely charging to zero. From experience, we also know that this also drives the main cooling fan, so a roadside stop is in order. Too bad it didn't happen a little earlier, as we were just pulling onto the freeway from a rest stop north of Vancouver, WA.

Oh, well. At least this is easy to fix. Two sockets and a crawl into the wheel well by Ed, and about 30 minutes of work. One missing item, though -- a good tool like a crow bar to tighten down this thing. A good substitute -- Ed's big oil painting easel with a push from Davis.

We're on the road again!
