Glen's World Travels 2005 travel blog

Greetings from Honduras. The adventure continues. After two weeks in Tela and spanish classes ( I think my teacher gave up on me as hopeless ) I moved on to La Ceiba where you can catch ferries to the Bay Islands of Utila and Roatan. It's not expensive to travel and stay and eat here in Honduras. And this country is tourist friendly and has alot to offer by way of scenery and adventure. I choose Utila because of it's fame as the home and island discoverd by Robinson Crusoe in the 18th century. Many famous writers have lived here and writen about this romantic island. And trust me it is fantastic. A must on your future travel plans. Great beaches, full of Dive shops, lots of reef to explore, great off shore snokeling, a backpackers paradice, cheap rooms, great inexpensive food, and endless tour options, boat trips, hiking. And the archetecture of the houses is out of this world. Partly Spanish influence, partly New Orleans style with great verandas and tables set out on the porches, balconies. And there's still land here to be bought with great sea views..even some ocean frontage lots are available if you've got a couple hundred grand lying around. But an ideal spot to retire in and build your little getta away luxury home. Been a dream of mine for a long time. Why didn't I come here 20 years ago, ha. Ok hope You are still enjoying these entries. Do you want different information or have suggestions? Cheers Glen
