Just before setting off on the Singalila Ridge, we needed the hats...

Hello Again,

Well we did it and the girls were brilliant.

We walked for 5 days up onto the Singallila ridge where we got absolutely fantastic views of the Himalaya, including Everest and a really close up view of Kanchengjunga (3rd highest peak in the world). We did need the hired down jackets as it was really cold at night.

We even slept in them at the highest village Sandachphu, which is at 3600 metres(12,000ft).There was still a good covering of snow and freezing at night. Glad to be back in the comforts of Darjeeling and the wood burning stove in our room.

We will load the photos when we get home as we are about to head for Kathmandhu tomorrow and hope to try and do a week long trek there in the Helambu valley. It is a bit lower so hopefully less snow and a bit warmer.

Only 2 weeks to go and we are all looking forward to getting home
