Hey- writing from the city of Sucre!

Since the last entry.....spent the night on the train (we were riding first class) which we thought would be pretty luxury...not gonna lie to you the bus on the uneven dirt roads were smoother! Trying to use the bathroom on a ride like this...(I did attempt) but because I decided that my chances of succeeding and returning to the cabin with dry clothes was slim to none- I opted not....it was a long 13 hours (especially with my bladder)! We arrived in he city of Santa Cruz- it was their final day of carnival- which apparently they celebrate by covering each other from head to toe with paint....I was in there like a dirty shirt under the belief that- well the shit has to be washable- why else would they actually allow this to happen! I should have thought twice (umm...probably wouldn''t have changed the sequence of events) and 2 days later I am still scraping paint out from behind my ears and multiple other places...if I thought I needed a manicure and a pedicure boefore.......the pictures are hilarious and we managed to meet some locals who could speak english and had a great time in city where anything is acceptable (I even witnessed people peeing on a cathedral...)

The following morning we flew to Sucre (it was only a 25 minute flight..apparently the roads are too bad to drive on) and picked up our two newest members- two more British gals- I am getting a bit out numbered! Can you believe that they had no idea what a toque was- I am the lauging stock of this group...they are trying to catch me in it for a picture so they can send it to their homes and make fun of us Canadians- I''m trying hard not to let it happen guys! (Paulette- that ''guys''was just for you ehh!)

Wondered around the city yesterday and took in some amazing views! Since we have now reached altitude..we took yesterday to adjust a bit! In the evening we went to a boys orphanage (they have 45 boys between 5-15) and spent time playing with the little ones! We brought cake, school books and flour- they were so çexcited that we were invited back for breakfast this morniing..the kids are adorable and for such little money you can do so much for them (1 U.S dollar is equal to 7.80 bolivianos) and we were able to by that all for about 10 u.s. dollars each!

After breakfast this a.m. we went for a 6 hour trek through the Andes- it was a fabulous way to spend the day! The terrain was fierce- good practice for the Inca Trail! We were laughing...the scenery is very similar to that of Austria- we felt like we were in the Sound of Music at the end of that movie when they are crossing the mountians.....cna''t ya tell I''m with a bunch of chicks! I tried to sing some country music...turns out no one else listens to the good stuff ha ha ha....

Hugs and kisses all around...gotta go for a shower and a bite to eat!
