Cold day cookout

When I awoke yesterday I thought I heard thunder in the distance. As I sat writing in the journal the thunder became much closer and was accompanied by lightning, rain, and strong wind. The temperature remained around 50 all day and no one was spending much time outdoors, so Marilyn & I headed to McAllen to a Mall. As you know, a Mall is not where I like to spend my time, but Marilyn wanted to use a gift card to pick up something and I needed to get some mud on my sqeaky clean and waxed truck, so away we went. It was a nice Mall but did not have even one book store. When we visit a Mall, that is where I like to spend some time. Besides, I have two gift certificates for book stores. We had lunch at the food court in the Mall, and then returned to the RV and hibernated for the remainder of the day.

Today, we plan to get out for Mass, and then maybe I will go shopping alone to pick up a gift for Marilyn. She is my valentine, you know. :) I have it picked out and I know where to get it, so it won't take me long. :)

I will try to post some pictures today. They are of some of our friends taking part in some of the activities around here. I will have some additional pictures of Heinz doing his volunteer work in Mexico after we have time to talk and I have more information. For now, here are some pictures of the fine people we have met. Can't wait to see what this overcast, cool day has in store.....
