Going home

What a wonderful time we had in Progreso, Mexico. The "group" met on the street shortly after 2:00 PM. Everyone was in a festive mood, laughing and joking around, before jumping into the trucks and heading toward Progreso. Gilbert and Carl were the drivers. We had a good time taking pictures and doing the usual tourist things, before arriving at Garcias for "Happy Hour". Upon arrival we learned that you must purchase tickets for the Fiesta because they hold only a certain number of people. The tickets are $4.50 per person. They have door prizes, Mexican dancers, 40's & 50's live music for listening and dancing, all you can drink, and offer snacks for an extra charge. The snacks were very good and reasonable in price. We had a wonderful time, meeting other people we knew who were not staying at the same resort as us. The Fiesta ended before we had to be carried back across the border, and we enjoyed wandering down the street, looking in shops, etc. We stopped at a duty free store to purchase some supplies, paid the tax, and returned home to our RV. It was an evening filled with fun, dancing, laughter, and an over-all memorable good time.

Today, we have to make a short trip to the store. We are hosting a cookout on our patio this afternoon. I want to fix shrimp & portobella mushrooms for an appetizer, then we will have hot dogs, baked beans and assorted other dishes. Everyone is bringing something. It will be fun and the weather is supposed to be good. Tomorrow, we are going to breakfast with Jack & Marge, and then to a craft show.

Well, I had better get busy and post some pictures for you. Can't wait to see what the day has in store.....
