2006: North to Alaska! travel blog

So we've driven allllll day and decide that if we just do a roadside rest area we'll be able to hit the road early and make good time tomorrow. Roadside rest areas are OK, but don't plan on them being a quiet place to sleep if the highway is anything like this one was. We didn't get a lot of sleep, but we did get an early start!

I didn't get a picture. Just close your eyes and remember the last busy highway rest area you visited, only overlooking miles upon miles of trees.

Why not stay at an RV park/CG? Well, at this point our thought was that we had such a long way to go that it would be best to blast on up through British Columbia (which is a huge, huge area), and get up to Alaska quick so that we would maximize our time up there. So we put in some long driving days on the trip up.
