OUR NEW WHEELS!
Yes we got ourselves a new tow vehicle.
2006 DODGE RAM 1500 SLT MEGA CAB 4X4 WITH A HEMI 5.7 LITER ENGINE. MEGA CAB is a good description of the room in this truck. There's room & more room to spare for whatever your needs are, in this truck. Even those sitting in the rear seat are sitting in first class with an Entertainment center and reclining seats.
Yes she's a bigger truck all around The 5.7 HEMI is a new fuel efficient engine (meaning during normal highway driving the engine will switch from 8 cylinders to 4 cylinders, therefore making the truck more fuel efficient). However when the need comes to tow our 5th wheel we can throw it into tow/haul mode & utilize all our power, so we should have no problem towing our 5th wheel.
She's definitely a bigger truck & we are having side steps added for easier entering & exiting. Even I found myself having trouble getting in & out, so hopefully the steps will help. Heck, I was telling Dorothy even Bud will have a problem getting in & out. It is a 4X4 so we shouldn't have the mishaps we have had in the past with getting stuck.
The plan this week is to get the hitch, the side steps & the tow mirrors installed, so we can make arrangements for a trip with the NEW WHEELS.
