Scenery

Pineapple Field

Scenery

We had a very long drive, about 290 miles and in Mexico that is a long drive. We started at 7:30 AM but we had to start moving RV's at 7 AM just to get on the road at 7:30. It was cloudy and about 68 degrees. It took almost a hour just to get out of Veracruz. Then we past through countryside that had bananas, pineapples and sugar cane. Everywhere we go the people wave at us. The get very excited when they see us. We had one expecially hard U-turn we had to make (we call them Mexican left turns). We were having trouble waiting for traffic. All of a sudden two Mexican Police cars appeared and stopped oncoming traffic so we could make the U-turn. When we arrived at the RV park we found it was a grass field but it had rained and a carovan had been in yesterday. It was one huge mud hole. Some of the rigs got parked in the middle of the mud and we even started in when the wagon master went to plan B. We parked in another area were there there were no hookups but also no mud. Unfortunately some of the people were plenty upset. There was a beautiful swimming pool here but it was late and the misquitos came out. The good news is that the temperature is now about 80 degrees and we are under mostly sunny skies. Susan and I just spent the evening in the rig eating dinner and watching a movie.
