Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Yesterday, after the phone call from Bill (Husband of Sharon)informing us of Sharon's death, we threw clothing into our suitcases and were on the way north by 10:30 AM. I had planned to just go a little way and stop. Just so we would have some miles out of the way. We ended up driving for 8 hours and stopped for the night at Waco, TX. We drove east on 83 and then took Hwy 77 north. We stayed on that all the way to Waco and were delighted by the really good road. We stayed at a "Comfort Suites" hotel located at the junction of 77 and I-35. The hotel was very nice, quiet and comfortable. We had dinner at Texas Roadhouse, just across the street from the hotel.

This morning we were on the road at 10 minutes after 8:00 AM. Again, we drove for 8 hours and stopped for the night at the home of some good friends.

When I checked in on the internet, I found some messages for us, some with questions about the Mobile Suites. I promise to answer the questions when we get back to our RV at Llano Grande RV Resort. I will also post a few pictures taken along the way on this trip. The snow and ice was really nasty in a few areas. Tomorrow, we will drive the remainder of the way to our daughter's home. We have so many new readers of our web site, thanks to Howard & Linda, and I feel bad that I am not doing our usual type of journal entry. Please stay with us and I'll get things back to normal soon.

The funeral for my cousin, Sharon is Thursday at 11:00 AM. We plan to start back to Texas on Sunday morning, with a stop in Wichita to say helo to old friends and pick up our bikes and golf clubs, which have been at a friend's home since we left in September.

More later....
