Entrance to the Fortress
The township on the winding river
We push on - another three hour drive to the town of Veliko Tarnovo. On arrival we discover a great pizza restaurant where we endulge in pizza and beer... for about a pound and a half. All good.
Awesome ancient fotress sits atop hill almost completely surronded by a meandering river. Stone walkway up to castle gate reminded me of scene from 'LOTR The Two Towers' when the Orcs are mounting their attack on Helms Deep.
