Visit to CCI Ontario projects in Ghana and Togo 2004 travel blog

Although I have been working really hard at improving my French skills since my visit a year ago, I still thought it was best to drag Mitra along with me to yesterday ASDEB to meet with Emmanuel and his staff. I always tease Emmanuel that he speaks way to quickly for me - even if someday I was bilingual!

We dropped Chantal off and went into the ASDEB offices. Emmanuel and I had caught up a lot at dinner during my first night, talking mainly about the difficulty I know too well of finding international supporters. So we cut the day short and intended to finish up chatting the next day. Well, something we ate in Kpalime didn't agree with us and Mitra and I actually spent the next day and half in the hotel as close as possible to the washroom, glad for the air conditioning and each other. Through the power of text messaging we discovered that Jia and Chantal were also down for the count. Thanks Dr. Mark - our CCI Ontario medical consultant - on all of your good advice on how to get well again after a bad food bought!
