Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Today is my birthday so I am one year older. The thing is, that I feel younger than I did when I was still working. This sense of freedom is invigorating and energizing. From the day we retired up to today, Marilyn and I haven't even been close to being ill, not even once. It has to be the stress free life style. :)

Yesterday, we walked up to the clubhouse for a breakfast of pancakes, waffles, sausage, ham, coffee and orange juice. It was quite good and we met some nice people from Michigan. We were talking as we walked back to our RV and Marilyn said she is beginning to get "hitch itch", meaning she is ready to move on. She says she wants to go where it is warm enough to sit outdoors to drink our coffee in the morning. I must confess that I too, am ready to continue on south. We plan to leave one week from today and travel to Mercedes, TX. Before we move on, however, we have more adventures to experience here in San Antonio. This evening we are going to Brian & Deb's home on the north side of SA, for a new years eve party. Deb is a daughter of our good friend, Sherry. She is a beautiful, high energy, person who is a delight to be around. Brian, her husband, is a handsome, quiet, soft spoken, layed back, young man, who is also enjoyable to be with. We are looking forward to another late night out tonight.

Next Tuesday we are planning to drive up to the hill country with Rick & Sherry. I will make comments about that adventure after we return. I would like to visit the Flight Safety campus here to visit some old friends and I would also like to see some pilot friends who have their aircraft based here. Marilyn would like to go to the riverwalk one more time before we leave. So, as you can see, we have more activities to consider. Can't wait to see what the day brings..........
