Larry & Lee Ann's Journey travel blog

Meet Lucy...

The "kids"....

The toy...

The "real kid" Bailey, it's his rocket!

It shot a good 300 ft!

Heading back to earth...

And reloading for another liftoff!...

Lily is pretty happy with her first Christmas!

She's opening those packages just like a girl!...

Boy, we sure miss her!...

Have a safe & blessed New Year!

Well, we hope you all enjoyed your Christmas as much as we did. As I mentioned before, we are parked at Larry's sister Bonnie & her husband Larry's home in Henderson, a suburb of Las Vegas. It is working out very well as we are enjoying full hookups & family at the same time! Yeah...we like that.

Christmas dawned bright, sunny & warm. Perfect. After Larry & I enjoyed opening our gifts to each other, there was a knock at the door & Ken (nephew) invited us to join the rest of the family inside for breakfast. We had omelets made from the leftover Honeybaked ham from Christmas Eve. Yum....and I didn't have to cook. I always enjoy someone else's cooking, don't you? Just seems to taste better.

We then went to the desert across the street to "play" with the rocket one of the children got as a gift. You can see all of the children gathered round it in the photo! Average age, 40 I think...LOL

A couple of hours later we showered & headed to our son's for dinner. Have you ever had fried turkey? It is wonderful. It is injected with some type of marinade & then deep fried & it is delicious. We had quite a feast. My daughter-in-law Tawnia is a very good cook & she always makes enough to serve an army! We had all the trimmings as well as homemade bread pudding for dessert! It was wonderful. Tawnia's sister Tessa is visiting from Canada with her son Jermaine. And her mother Sharon was there to share the day also. Sharing the holidays with family & friends is what life is all about, isn't it...When we arrived home we had received a couple of pics of Lily enjoying her first Christmas. Looks like they had a wonderful day also! Hope you did as well...

We really haven't done much in the way of sightseeing since we arrived. We have booked a few doctors appts. & vet for Onyx. And we went to see the movie Nativity Story. I highly recommend it. Funny thing, the projectionist started the wrong movie & the folks were streaming up front to let them know. So, they came into the theater, apologized & offered free refills for any refreshments you might have. But, then on the way out they gave us 2 free tickets to any other movie of our choice. So looks like I will be going back to see Rocky one day this week! And Larry got me a Nascar ride-a-long as a gift so I will be doing that shortly. And 4 massages! Wow, spoiled rotten ehhh? We didn't buy each other much in the way of clothing or home furnishings. We have this new rule, one in-one out. So, if I get a new shirt I have to throw one away! Or shoes, jeans, shorts etc. Now that's a dilemma! Which one to give away...

We also received a call from a reader of our site yesterday & made arrangements to meet for lunch next Saturday. We look forward to meeting them as we have received several nice emails from them in the past couple of months. Future full timers, so hopefully we can share a little of our experiences so far which might prove to be helpful. If we are ever in your area, please let us know. We would love to meet you. This lifestyle is a great way to make new friends.

Tomorrow is New Year's Eve. If you are out & about, please be safe. And watch those drivers around you.

May you all have a blessed, wonderful 2007.
