Our next few days and over the Christmas period were spent with Yvonne and her family.

On Christmas Eve we all met for drinks at Little Creatures, a lovely pub and working brewery set on Fremantle's harbour which serves excellent bright and pale ales. As the sun went down we all headed back home and got ready for the big day. but before that we had to stay up to midnight with a few drinks to wish Simon, Yvonnes husband Happy Birthday. 21st again!

Happy Christmas! After opening presents we got ready and headed to Tammy and Stuart's house (Yvonne's aunty) in the northern suburbs of Perth. The weather was a "cool" and glorious 36 degrees celcius without a cloud in the sky and as soon as everyone saw the swimming pool, it was on with the cozzies for a dip in the pool. After a few pool games we tucked in to our Christmas dinner, which started off with a lovely seafood bbq, followed by cold meats and salad lunch and then it was a case of just relaxing in the sunshine and playing a few more games in the pool with the kids. It was David's first hot Christmas which I think he could get use to quite easily but it was very strange not being with any family but it was great to be with friends, and Yvonne's family made us very welcome and we had an excellent time.

Boxing Day was spent on Cottesloe beach where we relaxed in the sunshine for a couple of hours. What a great way to spend the day. David took a walk to the end of a small pier and saw a dolphin coming right up to the beach chasing lots of little fish. Initially people thought it was a shark but were soon relieved to see that it wasn't. That afternoon we had a lovely BBQ and relaxed in front of the TV watching the first day of the fourth Ashes test.

A final word of thanks to Lou and Russ for putting a roof over our heads and the rest of Yvonne's family for their hospitality over the Christmas period.
