Bob, Mimi, Bob & Kathy spent 5 nights in Salerno and visited other sites on the Amalfi Coast. Walked the old section of Salerno to locate the Duomo and the Botanical Garden. We took a "thrilling" bus ride along the coast and cliffs to reach Positano. One of Kathy's favorite trips!!! Our planned return trip on a ferry did not work because it was no longer running at that time of the day. Therefore, we had a second, more thrilling, bus trip as the bus was now on the cliff downslope side of the road!! At Positano, we had a great lunch in a neat restaurant. On the return trip, we stopped in Amalfi to visit the midevil paper mill/museum. Once upon a time, Amalfi was a trade port for coffee, carpets and paper. By the way, it is the home of the Maltese Cross design (1343). Kathy introduced Mimi to walking the beach and with the help of a gypsy boy, collecting sea glass (pieces of smooth glass washed to the beach after years of polishing). By this time, I trust that the boy's Mom and he are selling sea glass to tourists'.
