We left Lapeer and headed to Stratford after securing tickets for "Much Ado About Nothing" online. Gosh, I love the internet! The bad thing was that the park we wanted to stay at in town never answered their phone, so we wound up about 25 miles outside of town, so a little longer drive than we wanted.
The park had some really nice nature trails as well - Madison loved the new smells.
Here's the garden outside the Festival theatre where we saw "Much Ado."
The play was really lovely - well acted and a great theatre. Jeff tried to commune with a statue of good old Uncle Will.
The town of Stratford won some sort of award for "Most Beautiful City" and we can certainly see why. It's gorgeous! Of course, any town called Stratford has to have a River Avon -
complete with swans
. The downtown is full of picturesque Victorian style houses and shops and there are flowers and hanging baskets everywhere!
We had a yen for some really good fish and chips which can be found in Ontario. Our first try was a washout, but we hit paydirt at Archies.
