The town of Napflio is dominated by the Palamidi fortress which stands 216m above the town on a rock outcrop. We ascended the 999 steps to see some awesome views of the area, which made for very good exercise, but was worth the effort.
We also made a visit the nearby ruins at Epidavrus which included a theatre with seating for 14,000. The acoustics were awesome and it is still utilized for a summer theatre festival.
The town is a getaway for Athens and has a large and active shopping district. The rooms are numerous in the off season and we probably had the best hostess of our trip for our stay in Napflio. She made every effort to ensure that her room was just right and that we would enjoy our stay in her town.
