Slept in this morning and had a great sleep except for when I was woken up at 3am by some kids setting off fireworks like right outside the hotel. Great fun. Today was laundry day. I walked down to a laundry place to see if I could do my own washing but the greek guy working there said he would do it. He was nice and spoke enough english for me. He said to come back in 2 hours to pick up my clothes.
Wandered around town and looked in some shops. Everything is so touristy and there are so many tacky tourist shops. Picked up my clothes and repacked everything. I went to the grocery store to buy some cheap eats for lunch. Found a new treat that the greeks seems to love. Croissants filled with chocolate or strawberries or whatever else you can imagine.
Cheese, crackers and a croissant for lunch for me and some water. Went to check out Aquaworld. Basically it's a mediteranian aquarium with fish and reptiles. The lady told me to go out to the garden area first where some animals were out of their cages. Walked out there to find turtles roaming around at my feet and a HUGE snack curled up in the corner. I steared clear of him and hung with the turtles.
Some french tourists were also there and one of the guys working there brought out another smaller snake and put around the kids necks. As brave as I am I didn't let him put the snake around me. Was a cool place to hang out for a bit. I saw a crocodile who was cool and an octopus.
Ate dinner at the hotel again tonight. This time the food was better. Went out to see if anything was going on in town but not much going on. I forgot to mention but there are a TON of Irish pubs here. Every second place seems to have an irish name and a guinness sign in the window. Kinda makes me feel like i'm back in Ireland until you talk to the bartenders. They are all greek haha.
Ferry tomorrow morning to Rhodes from a town 45 Km away. Hope I make it in time.
