Well, we have been in Ely for a week already! Just can't believe how the time flies. We were originally planning to stay at the KOA or the Valley View RV Park, but after staying at my parents home for the first 2 days, we decided to just stay here for the rest of the month. We are not using our water hose as the temperature is well under 30 degrees every night & we don't want to go through the frozen water hose routine again! So, we are keeping our fresh water tank reasonably full for the little use we are giving it, & we are using the shower, toilet etc in the house. We are using propane to heat rather than the small ceramic heater we usually use, as we have the Arctic package on the rig which feeds heat to nearly every compartment if you use the propane heater. Seems to be doing a good job. And with our flannel sheets & down blanket we are quite comfortable. Now getting out of bed in the morning, when I have the thermostat set at 50 is another story! Larry says if I don't stop the "hot flash queen" role soon, he doesn't know what he'll do! LOL Actually, he claims he doesn't mind. He always gets up an hour or so before me, & he kicks the temp up then. So when I come out of the bedroom it is always quite toasty. He takes such good care of me!

We are also doing 90% of meal preparation in the house as well, which is a nice break from cooking for mom. And let me tell you, it has worked out well for us as well! Just prior to our arriving, my parents purchased one of the side of beef packages, so we are enjoying roast beef, steaks & some of the best burgers you have ever eaten from all this grain fed beef! And we brought fresh salmon with us from Oregon, so our tummies are in heaven! And with the large oven in the house, baking is happening alot more again! Larry is in hog heaven!

Mom, Larry, my sister Lori & I went for Mexican food for lunch which pleased Larry. They just opened a new restaurant, a big deal in this town. It was pretty good...

We have only been sight seeing for about an hour but intend to do alot more this next week. We did go down by the lake & shot a couple of pics of the ducks & other waterfowl. And this beautiful little kitty is Mandy, she belongs to mom. Now little Onyx has always thought it was her duty to chase the kitty, so that took a couple of days of working things out! And innocent little Mandy is a trouble-maker & an instigator, let me tell you! But, she seems to bat those baby blues & gets away with everything! She is just beautiful at 5 months old. Pretty blue eyes!...

We are going to make the 3 hour drive to Elko, Nv on Tuesday to grocery shop for our Thanksgiving meal as well as Christmas gifts. There is NO shopping in Ely, so hopefully Mom will get her Christmas gift shopping done while we are there. I am trying to convince Larry & Dad to ride along as well, hoping to see some interesting sights along the way. At least a couple of Elk maybe???

I'll let you know! Have a great weekend...
