With the day well under way after spending time in Kalbarri National Park, we set off south, checking out places & beaches on the way & keeping out an eye for tonight's camp site.
We find ourselves at Coronation Beach about 15 mins before Geraldton. It's a great little spot with very private camp areas right on the beach. We set up and have a quick swim. There are waves!! We notice the drop in water temp but it is still very pleasant. The cooler water feels safer with less things out to kill you - stone fish, jellies etc. (Only a great white or 2 swimming past though!!) The wind has died down for the time being.
The night is a bit restless with lots of drunk fishermen revving past us all night long. Also the wind picks up & gives us some concerns about the tent. Morning finally arrives & the wind has died down a bit just in time for the flies. They are dreadful & worst we've experienced on the trip, bar maybe Gem Tree in the NT. Very thick & annoying. You have to be very careful not to snort or swallow them! Breakfast & packup is a quick affair & off we go.
We continue driving south with no fixed agenda. We spend an hour or two in Geraldton at the park making phone calls & use of reception to catch up on emails. We get caught out with no Sunday trading - even on our last nappy for Freddie! Toilet training to start NOW!!
We make our way to Dongara for lunch where we have a swim then continue to Jurien Bay, about 300km north of Perth.
