Sunday is the first day that we walked in the rain. We chose the shorter option of 10K to go easy on the ankle. It is better to save it for the long days in the coming week.
The Gothic stone column in Boadilla del Camino was were serious criminals were tried and executed.
The rain clears by lunch and we dry out and warm up at Albergue "En El Camino". This albergue has a swimming pool and is nicely landscaped. Young Eduardo Merino, our host, charms all the women with his Argentine good looks.
After lunch we visited the Iglesia de San Martin which I truly don't remember but we have photos so we must have been there. I think the homeopathic treatment I am taking for the pain in my ankle must be wiping out my memory of the day.
I do recall checking into our hotel in Leon, touring Iglesia Catedral de Leon and the cathedral of Santa Maria de la Regla, with over 100 stained glass windows.
We have dinner on our own tonight but compared to Pamplona the selection of tapas seems limited and since it is Sunday some of the better restaurants are closed. We find a pizza place or smell a pizza place, comfort food. Not quite sure what toppings we've ordered our pizza comes with an egg baked right in the middle. Not bad.
