Changing Money at the Lao Border Bank
| Arrived in this town, provincial capital, this noon after 3 hour truck/bus trip(only 58 kilometers!-tell anything about the roads here?!) from the border...great to be out of China, jungle and rice paddies and very nice accomodations here...lots of Haoles (our name for white,western-type, tourists...comes from Hawaii)...this has become a very busy tourist town, though not at all like the ones in China. We are feeling quite welcome for more than just our money(which is quite different from China where everything has a price tag, even tho you can haggle). More later, sorry no pictures, the last batch I had done in Kunming ended up being scanned and the format is wrong for putting on the site so I'll have to wait...plus these computers are extreeeeemely sloooooow!
