Seeing the world thru Butch's eyes! travel blog

Hey Yall...

I have decided to bail out of Bangalore as there aren't much of history or culture to see for it was truly a modern city. It was starting to rain and the forecast was that it would continue for the next few days and yall know rain and I aren't always on the best terms! So caught the flight at the very last minute and headed for the sunny coast once again but in a different state this time, Goa!

I am now in Palolem, the southernmost tip of Goa, and already felt at home here. The beach reminded me of Kovalam except that it was 10 times bigger and peppered with beach huts that one could rent anywhere between $2 to $5! I rented mine for a mere $2.50 per night and has the prime view of mountain with river cascading slowly toward the beach. I did want a beachfront hut but they were all booked solid. All of them so settled for this one and am happy with my choice tho as I get two different scenery to look at on a daily basis.

A lot of youngsters are here which, of course, made me feel like grandpa! Lots of them are in their early 20's and donned in hippie clothes and perhaps high on E or mushrooom or just old fashioned marjuana which were plentiful here! A lot of Europeans and not one American had been seen so far. How would I know yall might ponder. Oh that's easy! If I see a good looking guy with a frumpy and slightly plump gal then they must be from European countries for American guy would be caught dead with that kind of gal, especially wearing bikinis showing off their blubbers on the beach! I really respect Europeans for giving no scruples to being plump and insist on wearing two piece bikinis just as well as guys wearing speedos with their pot-bellied stomach covering the front! ;-) Very few Indian tourists are here which I think they were wiser and avoided for a good reason as the prices here may be inflated to hoard us, the eternally innocent tourists, of fash cash!

There isnt much to comment on culture and/or history but I am sooooo happy to be on the beach with coconut palms towering above me and Arabian Sea lapping at my feet as I walk along the shore looking at exotic shells and starfishes! I have also joined the yoga lessons and will be attending the classes for the next 10 days for it was a bargain as it tapped me only 2 dollars per class! Hopefully I will be a master by then. Fat chances but at least I will know the steps and how to breathe proper while doing the yoga to stay trim and fit! ;-p

I shant bore you with my ramblings so will get on with my life in Goa and snap some wonderful pictures to be added to this journal soon! I know...it's not the same without photos but I promiseyou that they will come soon! Meanwhile...take care and prepare youself for a mighty Thanksgiving as its approaching fast. Enjoy a turkey for me!

Big hugs as ever,

Butch
