Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

Yesterday was another fine day. We walked around, talked with other people who are in the campground, straightened up the trailer, transfered some pictures from Marilyn's camera to the laptop computer, (hopefully you may now see some pictures) had some lunch, and then drove out to Cockledoo Farm to unload the van into a storage shed. Cockledoo Farm is where Steve, our future son-in-law, lives as does his parents. They each have homes there on the 400 or so acres of ground, along with a wonderful game room, lots of outbuildings, many animals, timber, and wonderful peace and quiet. Mostly the only sound you hear is the sound of the wind in the trees.

We returned to the campground and I put all outdoor stuff away because of the forecast for rain and thunderstorms. Jennifer came over for dinner at our place when she got off work, then we watched a bit of TV before going to bed a little after 10:00 PM.

This morning we took a scenic drive from Hannibal to Louisiana, MO on route 79. This is a beautiful drive beside the Mississippi River, over tree covered hills and between rocky bluffs. The leaves are changing color and it is a wonderful time of year. The drive is only 30 miles but is absolutely a feast for the eyes all the way.

We checked out another campground near Bowling Green, MO, called the Cozy C Campground. It is very nice with grassy lawns, level pull through sites, and a miniature golf course. We have decided to stay in Hannibal until we leave for Texas, because it is so convenient to Jennifer's house and all the activities involved with planning for the wedding.

My effort for today is to upload some photos for you to see what our 5th wheel looks like and to see the first place we made "home" after closing on the house.

We are going to the home of friends tomorrow evening for dinner. We need to make some plans for the trip to Branson, MO, for the week of Oct 7 to 14. Let's see what tomorrow brings......
