| Happy Birthday Dad. Time to go see some animals. Drove for about 4hrs to Samburu Game Reserve. The road was pretty shocking but we made it with all tyres intact and three of the four brakes. On the way into the park wilson was driving and sadly killed a goat. The tribal men who owned him were quite happy as they got the equivelant of 20 quid for it. Sure I saw them chase it into our path. We had a little bit of a game drive on the way in and spotted a lioness with cubs, not bad for a first. Set up our tents at a free camp spot by the river. There were elephant footprints and large turds, guess they are about. Had a game drive in the afternoon spotted Zebra (better stripes in the north), gazel, buffalo, Elphants and a leopard hanging out in a tree. Wilson, again, managed to get a fine for not sticking to the alotted tracks when the leopard was spotted. Not bad the 4 of the big 5 in 3hrs and no Rhino here. Made our way back to the camp, had dinner and went to bed early as we are doing a sunrise drive in the morning. |
