You know someone is your friend, when you can show up with only a couple of hours notice that you are early and they still let you in. Poor Nancy, we didn't know it would only take us a short time to get to her home from Oshkosh. We figured with big city area, the traffic would be awful and that we would get lost or something.
Nancy, thank you for being such a sweetheart at our early arrival.
It was wonderful to meet someone I have been visiting with on line for so many years. And even though I had seen a picture of the family including Rex, there is nothing like the real thing.
Nancy took us to lunch and we had our first taste of what we in the West call "Homemade type" ice cream, but they called CUSTARD. Now to me, custard is milk and eggs and stuff mixed together and baked in an oven. This was ice cream at its finest instead. Delicious for sure. I could almost head the hand crank of Granny's churn while I ate it.
We were lucky to meet Nancy's son Brian too. What a delightful young man, with a super personality.
We didn't get to meet Stephanie as she was with friends that day.
I apologize for the white eyes on the puppers. I still have a lot to learn about taking pictures with a flash.
We had such a wonderful afternoon with Nancy, Brian and Rex. It was a perfect beginning to an adventure of meeting many e-friends as we complete the rest of our trip.
