Ed & Marilyn 'The Happy Wanderers' travel blog

What a day! It was stormy, overcast, and windy yesterday. We had tornado warnings here in Wichita and heard the sirens going off. We kept track of everything on the local tv. The trailer did good but I can't say it was entirely stable. It rocked all day and once in a while the wind blew so hard that it actually moved the slide out, at the top. We monitored the tv and I fixed a pot of chicken soup. Mmm Good!!

The wind finally died down and the warnings were lifted in time to watch Survivor. We were in bed at 10:00 PM and slept very well.

This morning is bright and clear. Wonderful weather!! I dumped the holding tanks, took the trash to the campground dumpster, stopped to visit with other RVers, unloaded stuff from the truck, and joined Marilyn at the house to accomplish some chores. She just left to get her hair cut and promised to stop to pick up some lunch for us, on her way back.

I will go in to my workplace later today, to sign some papers. I already feel a bit like an extra wheel. I need to talk to my boss to see if he will store some things for us until we come back through Wichita on our way to Texas for the winter.

We plan to go to see a new movie called "The Flyboys" on Sunday afternoon. (Matinee and Senior discounts)The closest of our friends here will join us and after the movie, we'll all go out to eat together. Monday evening we hope to be able to take our next door neighbors, Herb & Deb, along with the kids and Deb's parents, out for dinner. They have all been a blessing in our lives.

We will close on the house next Tuesday, and leave on Wednesday morning, heading toward Hannibal, Missouri, and on to new adventures. Have to see what's around the bend....
