Snow Capped Mountains across Yellowstone Lake

1906 Stage Coach Tracks-Still Visible

Low Clouds and Snow

Today was a cold snowy day with the temperatures in the low 30's. The snow had not reached us at the RV Park yet. We decided to go to the east entrance and along the way saw a large elk bull. We drove back to the Canyon for a last look. Along the way in the Hayden Valley area, there are still tracks across the valley where stage coaches were used in the Park in 1906 to move visitors around. There were as many as 100 stage coaches a day. In those days there was the ocassional hold up along the way. Some visitors thought the hold ups were the most exciting part of the visit.

We planned on leaving the next day and the weather was supposed to get colder with more snow!
