sunset on the pan

Drove about 3-4 hours NorthWest of Nata to arrive in the famous Makgadikadi (sounds like someone is spitting at you when pronounced) pans where we camped in the middle of nowhere.

Our first experience with the 'bush toilet' - a hole in the ground with a screen for 'privacy' from the camp but open to the wild and a little toilet 'chair'.

Also, needed to collect firewood, and decided to be unconventional and go for a whole dead tree nearby with some humorous occurrences, but in the end we got our wood - though just a branch!

It was a cold night, and those mats seemed to be getting harder...

But, next day, we drove around a little and did see some nice birds - our first African wildlife!
