First day of the tour was a 12-hour drive to Nata, Botswana where we camped in a campground which was part of a lodge, so at least there were showers and flush toilets, though rough. Also, had a nice African buffet dinner at the lodge, which was very good. Crocodile tastes like chicken!
The tents were already set up, which was nice and lessened the blow of the sleeping mats we would be using for the next 2 weeks - about an inch thick and the hardest rubber you can imagine. Like sleeping on concrete. apparently we were to be glad they made the surface flat! Many sore mornings to follow...
